Sherry is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who earned a Master of Science in Counselor Education, specializing in Mental Health Counseling, from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida. During her training she completed focused training in Hypnotherapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Sherry completed her counseling internship at Stress and Anxiety Center and Lyon Counseling. In her clinical experience, she enjoyed working with a diverse population of children, adults, and couples acquiring knowledge to aid clients effectively process trauma as well as manage anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and relational conflict.

Through the lens of an integrative approach, Sherry is client centered focused on tailoring counseling to each person’s unique needs, as her belief is there is no “one size fits all” model. Believing every client’s life circumstance are different, she strives to make each client feel accepted and understood at a basic level. Sherry creates a safe haven for clients by offering a secure foundation for the exploration of new and difficult emotions and experiences. Together, she focuses on understanding the past to identify and process how it is impacting the present. Her clients indicate she is compassionate as well as an empathic listener who responds with nonjudgmental acceptance to address the concerns the client may have. Her goal is to build genuine connection of mutual trust, authenticity, and openness providing guidance, supports, and skills that encourages clients towards making the changes they are looking for. Collaboratively, Sherry will help you live a life filled with additional self-awareness, resilience, and courage in an environment of growth and healing.

While assisting in youth ministry or listening to a friend who just needed someone to talk to, Sherry has a passion and natural ability to build meaningful relationships that empower individuals to share their personal stories. In her free time, Sherry enjoys spending quality time with her three children, family and friends, as well as traveling, exercising, and participating in volunteer work.
