You will meet with Adam first and talk about your mental health needs. This process usually takes anywhere from 30-40 minutes. During this time, he will ask about you, your family, your experiences, and any concerns you might have. He will then let you know which therapist is likely to be the best fit for you and give you their contact information. He will also take down your contact information. After this meeting, he will let your new therapist know what you are looking for and how to best reach you.
After this initial meeting with Adam, your therapist will reach out to you within the next few business days and attempt to set up a time to meet with you in person. When you meet with your new therapist for the first time, they will ask you to describe yourself and your mental health needs in more detail. You will be asked about income, but you will never be refused services if you are not able to afford the sliding scale fee discussed during this meeting. You may be referred to a therapist that can work with you for lower rates if needed. We want you to feel comfortable in communicating with us about your needs, your expectations, your concerns, and what you can afford at this point in time. We will make sure that all of these are considered throughout the process so that you get the best fit for you.
