About Me

Kelsey Evans-Amalu (she/her), PhD, is an independent researcher and adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida with her work focusing on the use of mindfulness, empathy, and compassion in K–12 and higher education. CEO of The Mindful Prof LLC,  she offers research, consulting, and somatic coaching/mindful living for one on one clients of all ages.

PhD in Education, Masters in Education, 500 Hour E-RYT, Kids Yoga Certified, Trauma Yoga Certified, Certified Meditation Teacher, Reiki Certified, Hypnosis Certified., Certified Professional Life Coach.

Offerings Include:

Somatic Coaching: A somatic coach guides clients in tuning into their body to get to the root of mindset problems, patterns, thoughts or any area a client feels stuck. They physical sensations that arise from emotion to extract wisdom, messages or memories that exist.

Reiki: Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduced stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.

Yoga Nidra: Known as yogic sleep, this meditation practice prompts the body to relax deeply while the mind remains inwardly alert.

Breathwork: Pranayama are yogic breathing techniques used to regulate prana or energy. This type of breathwork incorporates patterns of breath retention, inhalation, and exhalation.

Neuro-Linguistic ProgrammingNLP is a psychological approach that involves analyzing strategies used by successful individuals and applying them to reach a personal goal. It relates thoughts, language, and patterns of behavior learned through experience to specific outcomes.

Meditation: In Pali, Vipassana is translated to “insight”- this type of meditation offers a training of the mind, and the cultivation of a clear awareness of exactly what is happening as it happens.

Yoga: “Linking breath with movement”, transitional mindful movement between asanas using the breath as a foundation to the practice.
