Jason is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH21391). He completed his undergraduate degree, a BA in Psychology, from the University of Central Florida in 2005. After graduation, Jason spent the next decade working within the field at various locations in Florida and Ohio. His work experience during that time included being: a care coordinator in Orange County, Florida working with teenage boys who experienced difficulty maintaining placement in the foster care program; a community case manager in an outpatient psychiatric office which sent him to community settings all throughout Southwest Ohio; a research coordinator in Phase III and Phase IV biomedical trials on the application of psychotropic medications in the treatment of mental health disorders in Dayton, Ohio; and a residential care coordinator serving those with chronic mental health disorders in Orlando, Florida. Jason then returned to school to take the next step in his career. He graduated in 2018 from the University of Central Florida’s Clinical Psychology MA program and has been building his private practice ever since.
Jason brings a Rogerian person-centered style with an Existential Therapy framework into his counseling office. He believes therapy is a collaborative effort between two minds working toward the same goals. He also believes people get out of therapy what they put into it. Jason appreciates those who desire to learn more about themselves and put in the work required to do so. He believes everyone already has the necessary tools within them to succeed; whether a client cannot see these tools on their own, or whether a client just needs help fine-tuning them to suit their current situation, Jason provides a safe space and disarming demeanor to empower each client on their journey. Jason has experience working with diverse clientele who are suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, and anger among other things. He specializes in helping people discover themselves while finding meaning and purpose in an increasingly chaotic world.
Jason has always been fascinated with the human mind and why we think and act in the ways that we do. He enjoys working with people and feels that counseling is nothing short of a personal calling. Jason grew up in a military family, traveling to several locations stateside and even spent some time overseas in his formative years. He is happy to now be settled and building his practice. Jason leads a generally quiet existence which includes reading and writing and spending time with family.
