Cat is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor (FL). She completed undergraduate and graduate degrees at UCF in Psychology and Counselor Education. Growing up in a military family with parents in education and medical, Cat leans toward a client-centered growth mindset and strengths-based approach. She prioritizes therapeutic relationship and collaboration towards client goals.
Prior experience includes a variety of settings and concerns, with additional focus and in Trauma/PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Anxiety/Stress, Substance use and other Addictions, and Relationship with self and with others. (Prior populations include overseas military and stateside veterans, inpatient addictions, local community, and disaster response support.) Cat mostly works with adults individually, with occasional workshops for various ages on attachment, communication, and stress management.
Cat loves nature, travel, and dance, often incorporating all three into time off. This reminds her people are often kind and welcoming with much in common. With a background in Mathematics prior to Mental Health Counseling, learning theory often informs how challenges and new experiences are viewed, the process of regaining capacity by utilizing one's strengths, and benefits of genuine, compassionate support.
