Shazma is currently a graduate student at The University of the Cumberlands, majoring in Mental Health Counseling. Shazma completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Exceptional Student Education from the University of South Florida. She has worked in the Orange County Public Schools system, mainly in Title 1 schools for the past six years, which had sparked an interest in the counseling field.
Shazma prefers to use person-centered approach, allowing the client’s needs to take priority. During sessions, she encourages clients to take control of their counseling journey and pave the way to reach their goals, while holding clients to high regards. Shazma is interested in working with clients from multicultural backgrounds to ensure their values and beliefs are respected and heard. Some other interests include: marriage and family therapy, anxiety, depression, life transitions, women's issues, and adolescent therapy.
