Jessica Straughn (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH 22166) and the owner of Supportive Counseling, LLC. Her prior experience includes working as a Victim Specialist for a decade at the University of Central Florida's Police Department and the 9th Judicial State Attorney's Office. As a Victim Specialist, she provided crisis assistance in the community response to the Pulse nightclub.

She led as the Program Coordinator of Green Dot at UCF, a bystander intervention program focusing on ending violence on campus. Most recently, she worked as a therapist within 26Health to improve mind-body-spirit health in Central Florida's LGBTQ+ and ally community. She is also the contracted therapist with the Domestic Violence shelter Harbor House. She is a double alum from the University of Central Florida, with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, dual minors in Women's Studies and Criminal Justice, and certificates in Leadership Studies and Victim Advocacy.

Jessica has training and certifications in Crisis Response Planning for Suicide Prevention, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), MADD Death Notification, National Certified Counselor Certification, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

She is also a member of the American Counseling Association, Florida Counseling Association, and Mental Health Counselors of Central Florida. Jessica primarily works with individuals with trauma and victims of crime. She has extensive system knowledge of the Criminal Justice System, Title IX, Protection Orders, and police agencies.

Her clinical experience is with Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma disorders. As a therapist, she creates a trusting and supportive relationship where clients can explore their experiences, develop insight, and overcome barriers that limit their full potential. She focuses on evidence-based approaches, primarily using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
