About Me

Melissa Rabell, MS, LMHC, LPC-MHSP, CCTP is the founder of Reinventing Hope Counseling and a passionate advocate for healing from developmental and relational trauma. As a trauma-informed therapist, speaker, and author, Melissa helps individuals reconnect with themselves, regulate their nervous systems, and break free from survival-mode patterns that no longer serve them.

She works with those feeling stuck in old patterns, overwhelmed by anxiety, perfectionism, or the weight of past trauma. Many of her clients struggle with boundaries, relationships, or prioritizing themselves, often feeling like they have to carry everything alone. Melissa offers a grounded, compassionate presence and creates a safe space where clients can feel seen, gain clarity, and move through life’s challenges with support. Her approach blends insight and practical tools to help individuals build lives that reflect who they truly are.

Melissa holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy. She utilizes an integrative, mind-body approach that includes EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, somatic therapy, and other evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s needs. Whether working through trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or relational stress, her work is deeply personalized and rooted in attuned, compassionate care. Melissa believes that while the past may shape a person’s story, it does not have to define their future.

She has specialized training in supporting individuals impacted by narcissistic parents or partners, attachment wounds, and those who identify as “strong” but are quietly exhausted from holding it all together. Her clients often include those who find it difficult to ask for help or feel they must always appear “fine.” Melissa is skilled at helping these individuals feel safe enough to soften, receive support, and finally exhale.

Beyond the therapy room, Melissa is a contributing author in the collaborative book Heal to Lead, and serves on the board of Her Voice In The Darkness, an organization that supports survivors of psychological and emotional abuse.

Melissa offers a complimentary phone consultation through her intake coordinator to help prospective clients explore their goals and determine if Reinventing Hope Counseling is the right fit. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming but it is a courageous and empowering step toward healing.

When not working with clients, Melissa enjoys spending time with loved ones, mentoring other clinicians, listening to music, and relaxing by the water with her two spoiled pups.
