About Me

Welcome – I’m So Glad You’re Here

Hi, I’m Anne Keen, a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (IMH25916) with a passion for helping people untangle the roots of anxiety, trauma, and self-doubt so they can move through the world with more clarity, confidence, and connection. My work centers on supporting teens and adults—especially those navigating identity development, people-pleasing patterns, or the effects of complex trauma and attachment wounds.

My clients often describe feeling like they’ve lost touch with who they are, burned out from constantly caring for others, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

What I Specialize In

  • Anxiety & emotional overwhelm

  • Complex trauma & childhood wounds

  • Relationship & attachment struggles

  • People-pleasing & codependency

  • Identity exploration & self-trust

  • Low self-worth & inner critic work

Who I Work With

I work with teenagers, young adults, and adults who are ready to explore the deeper layers of their emotional experiences. Whether you’re feeling anxious and overextended, disconnected from your emotions, or unsure of who you are without the roles you play for others, therapy can be a space to reconnect with your most authentic self.

How I Approach Therapy

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that your symptoms are trying to tell a story. I integrate somatic tools, Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), and psychodynamic insight to help you:

  • Understand your triggers and nervous system

  • Build emotional safety and inner stability

  • Explore the younger parts of you that developed protective patterns

  • Release shame and cultivate self-trust

  • Heal the roots—not just manage the symptoms

I believe therapy should feel like a collaborative process. I’ll bring curiosity, warmth, and honesty into our work together, and I’ll gently challenge the parts of you that are ready to grow—without rushing the parts that are still learning to feel safe.

What Trauma Can Look Like
Trauma doesn’t have to involve a single dramatic event. It can show up as emotional neglect, inconsistent caregiving, bullying, or growing up in an environment where you felt unseen or unimportant. These experiences can lead to persistent anxiety, difficulty setting boundaries, chronic people-pleasing, or feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough.” Therapy can help you reclaim your voice, reconnect with your body, and unlearn the survival strategies that are no longer serving you.

Want to Work Together?
You deserve to feel at home in your body and in your life. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself, your teen, or your relationship, I’d be honored to support you through this process of healing and growth.
